War of 1815 State Marker Dedication at Plum Point Park, Norfolk (June 2015)

  • Norfolk Historical Society's President, Peggy McPhillips, and LtCol John Drew, US Army Corps of Engineers, unveil the new marker.
  • Period re-enactors add color to the event. Left to right: Jacki Smith, Stacy Weissner, Steve Forest, Kate and Chris Melhuish.
  • Colonel Carter Furr (War of 1812 Society in Virginia) and Miss Jennie Lou Pangle (Fort Norfolk Daughters of 1812) present wreaths. Center is Steve Forest in period uniform.

  • The marker was erected by members of the Norfolk Historical Society. Many thanks to Chip Finch and Craig Jones for their professional workmanship and dedication.
