Committed to preserving the diverse history of the Norfolk, Virginia area.
We know Florence Sloane for her beautiful home on the Elizabeth River, her impressive art collection and her influence on Norfolk's civic and cultural scene in the early 20th century. Florence also had a keen sense of fashion, which is highlighted in the Hermitage Museum & Garden’s current exhibition, “Style and Flair.”
Please join us on 8 April, when Lindsay Neal, Hermitage Curator of Collections, tells us more about Florence Knapp Sloane and offers a peek at some highlights from the exhibition, showing trends in fashion in the early 1900s to 1930s, from simple day wear to elaborate evening wear with plenty of bling.
