Murder & Mayhem: The Darker Side of Hampton Roads History

Author and historian Nancy E. Sheppard highlights some of Hampton Roads’s more nefarious past, dating back to its earliest days, sharing tales of piracy, cannibalism, kidnapping, riots and more. Join us if you dare for a glimpse into some of the darkest moments in Hampton Roads' history.

Ms. Sheppard, a reporter and photographer for the Yorktown Crier and The Poquoson Post, last appeared on our Second Wednesday stage in February 2017, when she presented her book "The Airship Roma Disaster in Hampton Roads."

October 9, 2019, 7:00 PM, MacArthur Memorial Visitor Center Theater
