A Trip to Isle of Wight County - For Members Only

 Norfolk Historical Society is pleased to announce our second excursion for members and their guests, featuring sites in Hampton Roads Where History Happened. The excursion will take us to historic Isle of Wight County, with tours of Fort Huger and Old Isle of Wight Courthouse, led by Isle of Wight County Museum Director Jennifer England.

WHEN:  Saturday, 28 September 2019, 10:00 am to noon

COST:  $5 per person, which covers the cost of the tour and a small donation to the museum

We will gather at the fort (Route 10, 15080 Talcott Place, Smithfield, VA 23430) to begin our tour at 10:00. Allow at least an hour to drive to the fort from Norfolk. The fort is approximately 1/4 mile from the parking area. There are no restrooms. We will proceed to the courthouse (northeast corner of Main and Mason streets in downtown Smithfield) at 11:00. After the courthouse tour, we encourage you to visit the Isle of Wight County Museum across the street, then hang around to enjoy lunch and shopping on your own.
