Civil War Re-enactors will be at Fort Norfolk demonstrating life at the Fort during the Civil War.  Visitors will learn about the year that the Fort was used by the Confederate Army to defend Norfolk from the Union Army and Navy.  After the Confederate Army evacuated the Fort in May of 1862, the Union army reoccupied the Fort.  The Union Army used the Fort as a Prison for Confederate soldiers and political prisoners. Visitors can also learn about the everyday life of a Civil War soldier.
