First World War Commonwealth War Graves Commemorations

  • Wednesday, October 12, 2016
  • 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
  • MacArthur Memorial Visitor Center Theater

The CWGC has commemorated 365 casualties of WWI in cemeteries across 42 US states, including Virginia. Many are
US citizens; others are immigrants from the countries of the British Empire. Some died in France, Flanders, the United
Kingdom and Canada and their remains were repatriated; some were members of the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal
Air Force who died whilst serving here. All have a story to tell and many reveal lesser known aspects of America’s involvement in the war. In this talk, former British Army officer Nick Metcalfe will examine some of those stories. Please join us to learn more!
