Strip Tease Girls: Experience Unnecessary

  • Wednesday, November 11, 2015
  • 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
  • MacArthur Memorial Visitor Center Theatre

The history of burlesque is fascinating, but facts are elusive. Newspaper ads crumble, tickets are thrown away, and autographed lobby cards pocketed by lucky patrons. The show is over, the feathers and glitter are swept off the stage, and performers move on to the next town, leaving little behind but memories. Where are the clues to help piece together their story? Perhaps, like burlesque, it's all about the tease.

Jennifer McDaid, Historical Archivist for Norfolk Southern Corporation, will take us  back in time to the days when Main Street’s Gaiety Theater was infamous, and the house was packed for every performance.
