Personal Reflections on Henry Clay's Legacy of Statesmanship

  • Wednesday, September 09, 2015
  • 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
  • McArthur Memorial Visitor Center Theatre

Dr. Ian Ralby, fifth Great-Grandson of 19th century Statesman Henry Clay, will reflect on his ancestor’s legacy and its enduring impact on the United States. Drawing on personal experience, historical anecdotes and family lore, Dr. Ralby will explore the meaning and significance of statesmanship as embodied by the Virginia native who moved west to Kentucky before finding his way to Washington.

Dr. Ralby – a William & Mary alum and former Norfolk resident – is an expert on the regulation and oversight of armed security contractors and works as an advisor on maritime law and security issues for the US Government, NATO and the United Nations.
