The Norfolk Historical Society, both by itself and in partnership with other organizations, shall actively promote the collection, interpretation, and preservation of  Norfolk, Virginia area history through educational programs, preservation support, community awareness, and advocacy.

Norfolk Celebrates

In 2023, Norfolk Historical Society launched a new video series, Norfolk Celebrates, a projected series of documentaries featuring members of our diverse and culturally rich community.

The first, Our Chinese Community, will be featured in our Louis L. Guy History Series on 14 February 2024. But you don’t have to wait until February to enjoy it – it is now live on our YouTube channel !

Norfolk Historical Society is pleased to announce the creation of a PayPal account to help fund the second phase of a new initiative launched in January – an internship program in partnership with the Department of History at Old Dominion University.
